Google+, what’s different this time?

Google+ is a surprising little pony that keeps surging ahead.  It’s gotten a ton of press coverage, has already added over 10 million users, and is the talk of the town. Google+ is cool and hip and the “it” thing.  People are begging for Google+ invitations and tweeting about it to their friends.

At least for now. This kind of success was unexpected, considering Google has never been strong in the social networking field, dominated by FaceBook. Google’s previous crack at it, the Google Buzz, fizzled and popped like defective fireworks. But, apparently, that did not discourage Google, and it kept plugging away at creating a bigger and badder network, and the efforts seem to be paying off with Google+.

What are your thoughts on it. Why do you think Google+ has been successful?
